Designing and building a custom home takes a team of specialists – architect / house designer, contractors, interior designer all working together. If one element is out of place, the entire project or room is compromised.
Everyone loves the benefits of technology, but successfully integrating these elements into a home while staying true to the interior design takes specific expertise. As an electronic systems specialist, Beyond Audiohas worked with some of the best, helping owners and designers properly integrate technologies into spaces that otherwise would be compromised.
Mirror TV in Bathroom
Televisions keep getting larger; they make a larger design statement that in many rooms is undesirable. We have several techniques to make these televisions disappear when not in use, or at least minimize their impact on the room design. It takes a team of craftsman and designers, as well as our team, all working together to get the desired result.
Here are a few examples.
Sometimes the Simplest Solution Woks Best.
Here we see a television hidden in plain view. The speakers were made to match the height and finish of the Television, and the background tile reflects light about the same as the TV glass so when the TV is not being used it virtually disappears – a simple and effective solution.

Television lifts are available in many variations – they can come from under a bed, pivot down from the ceiling, from inside cabinetry, from under the floor and more. See our website for more examples. Properly done motorization does require working together with skilled trade’s people as there are a variety of specific requirements, tight tolerances and little to no room for error.

Mirror televisions, while not inexpensive, are coming down in price and can solve more than just an interior design problem. Sometimes it is the only solution to get both a TV and a mirror into a space, and yes, the TV picture still looks great.
Large TV and Mirror
We have been doing these for years because it solves a very common problem. Artwork looks great above a fireplace, but if the client also wants a Television in the same room, above the fireplace is typically the only available space.
Artwork can roll up or be lifted or slid out of the way, and not just artwork. We have also used wood panels that slide out of the way to reveal the TV.

Technology and Decor
There are ways to have technology without compromising the design. We hide televisions, electronics, speakers and all the rest using a wide variety of solutions and techniques; another reason not to have the electrician do the electronics systems work.
